I’m sorry but there is no point to putting any sort of restrictions on firearms. Obviously people with a criminal record do not deserve them but for the law abiding citizen, it should not matter. To take the weapon out of the hands of the everyday person is not smart because a criminal with bad intent got his firearm through an illegal source that will always be there. By taking away firearms you take away our right to protection. You leave our protection in the hands of the police officer 10+ minutes away. I don’t think the guy mugging me is going to wait. There are more automobile related deaths in this country compared to firearm deaths, yet I do not see any advocacy groups that say cars should be capped at 15mph so no one gets hurts. We don’t do that because it’s inefficient and the government says that its OUR risk to take by driving. So why try to control our firearms? They aren’t close to as dangerous as other parts of our everyday life.
